Description of resource: Central Massachusetts Agency on Aging, a private, non-profit organization who under the Federal Older Americans Act, is responsible for planning, funding and monitoring nearly $3 million in programs for seniors and caregivers in Central Mass. SeniorConnection provides information to help seniors and their caregivers to help themselves. We help identify your need(s) and then locate the best possible resource(s) to turn to for answers. And there's no charge for our services. Our website www.SeniorConnection.org offers a searchable database of 1800+ agencies and programs. A special section, "Connection for Caregivers," offers monthly facilitated support groups, video classes, expert articles and a 24/7 chat room to share ideas and feelings with other caregivers. As a member of the Central Massachusetts Family Caregiver Support Program, we offer outreach services, including speakers' programs, education, training and opportunities for mutual support for caregivers. We produce The Caregivers' Guide, a roadmap with advice and starting points for people who face the challenges of caring for older relatives and friends, available in print or as a downloadable document on our website.
